Skin Rejuvenation

Your Skin Rejuvenation Clinic on the Sunshine Coast

What is skin rejuvenation?

Skin rejuvenation is a broad term for cosmetic treatments which have the power to not just slow or delay the signs of aging, but actually reduce them. ‘Rejuvenation’ literally means ‘to make young again’; it’s about restoring the signs of youth back to the skin, from elasticity and firmness to clarity and lack of wrinkles. Skin rejuvenation can include a wide range of procedures, such as photorejuvenation, dermal rolling, skin peels, clinical facials, and topical anti-aging products prescribed by a doctor or allied health professional.
At Cottontree Clinic, our expertise and decades of combined experience have led to a refined, select treatment range which includes skin needling, microdermabrasion and IPL.

What is microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a light cosmetic procedure in which a high-pressure stream of fine diamond flakes are used to powerfully yet safely exfoliate the dead top layer of skin. The flakes are removed by a vacuum, and the client is left with fresh clean skin that feels exceptionally smooth to the touch. Although applying creams and lotions right after treatment is not recommended, some patients may find that microdermabrasion boosts the efficacy of their skincare routine as well as delivering immediate results. If you’re considering microdermabrasion on the Sunshine Coast, we invite you to make an appointment for a consultation at Cottontree Clinic.

What is skin needling?

Skin needling is a procedure which features on the treatment menus of many of the world’s top skin rejuvenation clinics. Sometimes referred to as ‘collagen induction therapy’, it is a safe yet powerful procedure in which tiny, sterile needles are used to repeatedly puncture the skin in the target area. It is a natural way of stimulating the body to produce collagen, which then firms and plumps up the area.

What is IPL?

Aside from injectables, IPL is one of the most popular treatments at our skin rejuvenation clinic on the Sunshine Coast. IPL stands for intense pulsed light, and is also sometimes referred to as ‘photorejuvenation’. The light, when applied to the skin, induces tiny invisible ‘wounds’, which the body then heals by producing new cells. It is a comfortable treatment with no immediate side effects, yet great results for wrinkles, sun damage, scars and spider veins.
